Musings...

By Rod P. Kapunan

Sorry to say this, but that explains why the so-called anti-dictatorship bashers haven't been able to advance even an inch in all these years because they have failed to ask themselves what they achieved to validate their political line? The so-called progressives and lovers of freedom and democracy should put this deep into their cranial lobe that the process of the country's recolonization began on February 25, 1986 at EDSA. In fact, we are the only country in the world that exactly did that; to beg of being recolonized. That marked the beginning of our political atrophy where the elite and the clerics shielded by their imperialist masters began to lord it over again.

Today the chasm between the rich and the poor is unimaginable while the Maoists keeps on ranting of liberating this country. If Marcos was corrupt, they replaced him with a much more corrupt government. Remember, it cost the Marcos government a total of P470 billion in the 20 years he was in office, while it took Mrs. Aquino P1 trillion in the six years she was in office, and her son Noynoy demanded a budget more than P2 trillion for 2014 alone, yet have the gull to claim they are honest.

If Marcos was accused of human rights violation, it is on record that his successors, particularly the two ladies, killed more of their comrades and fellow ideologues than in the 20 years Marcos was in office. They even butchered the protesters in Hacienda Luisita and in Mendiola. In their celebrated First Quarter Storm only 4 were officially listed as killed, and I was the one who brought one of them to the hospital DOA, while 17 farmers were gunned down in broad day in Mendiola under the command of that butcher named Alfredo Lim. Mrs. Aquino did not lift a finger to investigate that because she thought they were dogs. As one would quip, Mrs. Aquino thought they were demanding bullets, not a piece of land. Both the affirmists and the rejectionists could only masturbate in silence on that issue.

Marcos, they fondly called "Tuta ng Kano", purposely did not allow the so-called Parity Rights Agreement to be extended beyond 1974, but only to be restored by his successors by signing the free trade agreement under the WTO and AFTA, thus reducing us today as miserable pauper mendicants. It was Marcos who shortened the tenure of the US military base by the signing of the Marcos-Johnson Communique in Washington 1966 to expire in September 1991, and not by the act of the Senate as that liar Salonga now claims. What that liar Salonga did was to reject the bill filed by American lackeys seeking to extend the stay of the US bases which was supported by the queen of hypocrites Mrs. Aquino. So, if the minions of the US and Mrs. Aquino did not file a bill seeking to renew the US military bases, even if that liar was never senator, just the Americans will have to go. Now, the son PNoy is about to offer the entire country to the US as their big military base. That is history not propaganda my friend. Thank you.
