Stupid is, as stupid does

Aquino meets Xi at the 2014 APEC in China.
With the deteriorated relations between China and the Philippines and with Noynoy continuing to court China’s utter displeasure by acting like America’s attack dog in Asia, the Noynoy government now seeks a dialog with China, and China has rejected the Philippines latest conciliatory move.
Can’t say China can be blamed for rejecting the Philippines’ new “peace” stance, considering the fact that China has asked for such a dialog long before, but was always rebuffed by Noynoy, choosing instead to make it clear to China and the world that America is the Philippines’ choice of partner against China, apart from the fact that Noynoy has refused the plea of China for it to just delay the submission to the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea its memorial for arbitration.
Emboldened by the empty rhetoric of US President Barack Obama’s claim that America will come to the aid of the Philippines, there went Noynoy, allowing the Americans to even have bases in the Philippines, with all the spins of the troops coming in to help train the Filipino troops, as well as quickly assist the country during calamities — as if one needs to have bases for the Americans in our country just for them to respond quickly to such calamities, as well as giving them bases just to train Philippine troops.
This sort of training is really stupid, considering the fact that the Philippine armed forces, can never hope to be manning the ultra sophisticated aircraft or nuclear battleships and can’t possibly be trained to take charge of such war machines. What then is the use of such claimed modern training? In the end, if war breaks out, if it does at all, and it is still the traditional and not the nuclear one, it will still be the Pinoys as foot soldiers. So what the heck spin is Malacañang giving the nation, just to justify the presence of the Americans in this country — and free of rent too?
As claimed, America will fight China in the country’s maritime dispute with the Asian military giant.
Ho. Ho. Ho. Obama’s spokesman just came out to state that the US takes no sides in the territorial disputes between China and claimant countries in the South China Sea.
Today, China, according to the Philippine foreign office and the Defense department, China is into building a military base in one of the disputed islands, which has created a problem for the Philippines by way of placing in jeopardy the arbitral case lodged by the Philippines against China, as the lay of the land, or claimed sea is being altered. And now, the Philippine government seeks a dialog with China on this issue of the disputed areas.
All these could have been prevented if Noynoy had taken the Chinese position of embracing bilateral dialogs with claimant countries over the disputes over the South China Sea claims.
But not for Noynoy. He wanted confrontation, believing that the US will fight China for the Philippines. So on Noynoy went against China, done too, to justify the full reentry of the American bases in the country, with any number of US troops, despite this being in blatant violation of the Constitution.
To make matters worse, Noynoy and his military went on the offensive, arresting the Chinese poachers and detaining them and making a big deal out of it, even with the full knowledge that China would react negatively.
But now, with China becoming even bolder with what had happened in Vietnam, and with the Americans not saying anything outside of the usual warning of the China provocation, even more can be done by China against the Philippines. And Noynoy now is left whimpering, seeking a dialog with China, after rejecting all of China’s plea for years.
The stupidity of it all is baffling.
Noynoy is truly a destructive force for the country — locally and internationally. And Filipinos are suffering for it.
