Davao City – Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte warned operators of cybersex dens in Davao City to stop their illegal activities or rot in jail, or worst, end up six feet under the ground.
Duterte made the warning on Thursday, February 20, after authorities revealed that there are 10 cybersex dens in the Davao Region, eight of them right here in Davao City.
Last week, two cybersex den operators identified as April Lyn Sinasap, 24, and her sister Kristin Abaro-Sinasap, 30, were arrested inside their residence in Barangay 76-A Bucana for allegedly employing girls to get naked in front of a webcam for their American clients.
Police rescued seven minors in the said residence ranging in age from two to 16, along with three women.
Duterte said he would no tolerate any illegal activity especially those that exploit children.
Chief Inspector Crisle Cainong, chief of the Anti-Cybercrime Group, said the operation of cybersex dens might become more accessible through the so-called “piso net” wherein users can access the internet at P1 for three to five minutes.
It was learned that foreign clients demand young girls for a show. The younger, the bigger the pay. A two-year old reportedly cost P12,000 per show. Payment would be sent through Western Union.
The police said they were having difficulty in obtaining the identity of the American clients as Western Union would not divulge the names of its customers.
The two cybersex operators were charged in court for violation of the Anti-Child Pornography Act, the Expanded Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act, and for child abuse. - Ben Tesiorna
